Its really been a long time since I last update by blog. Been wondering what to write, and now, am being posted to Putrajaya HQ since last November. Will think of something to write to brush away my rather rusty brain...

My heartiest congratulations to Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa for being appointed as the new Chief Secretary to the government. Like many other civil servants, i may not know him personally but from what i have heard from those who have met him, they said he was a nice person and down to earth. Yes, that's what they said and i really hope that such traits will remain with the nation's number one civil servant in accordance with one of the eighth values of PM's 1Malaysia concept, 'HUMILITY' (rendah diri).
I also hope that many other top civil servants will take note of such traits. Often we heard cases of certain bosses who showed disrespect to another human being by shouting at their subordinates or throwing files and documents around the office when they are in a bad mood!
Besides that, i also hope that the disparity of senior posts between government officers would be streamlined so that there would not be too few senior posts in one department as compared to another to motivate the officers. And another long overdue case is on promotion. some claimed that they always missed the promotion exercise while others may have at least been promoted two to three times during the same period.
Lastly i also hoped to see faster delivery system being implemented by some departments. For example, someone claimed that an application for a renewal of a land lease took more than two years for the relevant department to finally respond to to the applicant and the case is said to be still pending.
sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-55091919220675485092012-06-17T20:29:00.000-07:002012-06-17T20:29:10.152-07:00PM NAJIB'S VISIT TO KENINGAU SABAH

Congratulations to the people of Keningau who have the opportunity to meet PM Naijb in person during his visit the last two days. This is PM Najib, the man who introduced a very different style of administration for the betterment of all Malaysians. In conjunction with his visit, Keningau now got a handicraft centre and other goodies. Hopefully more developments will come under his rule.
sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-58383655162517400662012-06-17T20:18:00.000-07:002012-06-17T20:18:24.170-07:00FATHER'S DAY

Yesterday, June 17 was Father's Day. Hopefully all children will remember to hug or sent a message to their respective fathers on this particular day. Anyway, Father's Day and Mother's Day should be an everyday affair to a family so that it would help enhance family bonding and show appreciation to each other. I Wish Everyone A Happy Father's Day- :)
sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-37894730394728012712012-06-04T18:44:00.002-07:002012-06-04T18:46:31.721-07:00

PM NAJIB'S GAWAI VISIT TO RUMAH GEORGE CHUNGUT, PAKAN SARIKEI
I have just came back from Pakan Sarikei in conjunction with the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd. Najib's Gawai Dayak visit to a 33-door Iban longhouse, Rh. Chungut, Ng. Nansang Pakan, Sarikei on June 3, 2012.
Obviously our PM is a very popular figure everywhere he goes! It was really a day for the crowd of more than 3000 people at the longhouse to cherish. They were very enthusiastic about his visit and were seen jostling mildly with one another to get vantage position, not wanting to lose the golden opportunity to shake Najib's hand.
And Najib, being a humbled leader was very obliging. He even walked on the whole length of the "ruai' of the longhouse to meet and greet the long line of people.
A retired teacher in his 70s who was present said Najib's Gawai visit was indeed an historical one as never in his life that a Prime Minister had ever visited an Iban longhouse for the Gawai Dayak celebration. He added: "this is sure a very proud moment for us and the event will long be cherished." Sarawak Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud accompanied Najib during the visit. After spending some two hours there, Najib continued his visit to nearby Rh. Mathew Jana, at Julau for a similar event. Rh George Chungut is also the longhouse of Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom.
Hopefully, his visit will pave the way for more leaders to follow in his footstep in order to get really close to the people.
SELAMAT MENYAMBUT HARI GAWAI DAYAK 2012

Wishing all Dayak friends a Very Happy Gawai Dayak 2012 celebrations. This is the time for us to visit one another to enhance friendship. Normally for those living in cities, one could hardly find the right time to visit relatives and close friends. As the holidays will start tomorrow and ends on June 4, so make full use of the holidays to visit our friends. Remember, DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE ! Anyway its not the eating and the drinking that really count, but spreading the Gawai spirit among us is more important. As for me, i am not celebrating the Gawai but will visits some close friends.

PM's GAWAI DAYAK VISITS ON JUNE 3 2012

On June 2, i will be on travelling to Sibu and Pakan in conjuction with PM's Gawai Dayak Visit. Really appreciate YAB Mohd. Najib's visit to Betong, Pakan and Julau on June 3. I think that this is the first time that a Malaysian PM has humbled himself to visit two Iban longhouses in conjunction with this year's Gawai. I am pretty sure that his visits will be long cherished by the people of both longhouses. This is a leader who truly associates himself closely with his rakyat. May he will continue to be our PM. The announcement of 21 new projects worth more than RM20 billion yesterday by PM Datuk Seri Najib is one welcoming news for the people. According to PM, the new projects will create 40,000 job opportunities besides boosting GNI by RM4.59 billion by 2020. Hopefully, the nation's unemployment rate will be reduced eventually. Sarawak is once again honoured to play host and the venue is Padang Merdeka. The Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Abang Mohammad Salahuddin, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Minister of Information, Communication and Culture are among the dignitaries to attend plus our popular artistes to entertain the big crowd expected.
This year it is celebrated on Oct 10 because Sept 16 coincides with the puasa month.
Sabah has been enjoying the day as a public holiday but Sarawak is yet to do so. Many are of the opinion that Malaysia Day should be made a national holiday so that all Malaysians will know the significant of that day. For example, children may ask why is Sept 16 a public holiday, then parents or teachers will explain to them the rationale behind it and thus all Malaysians will know the significant of Sept 16, the day our beloved nation, Malaysia was formed.

sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-24532500109187947542009-08-25T01:50:00.000-07:002009-08-25T01:58:51.163-07:00it has been quite a long time that i didnt update my blog due to many reasons. one is of course the time factor... anyway, last July, i went to Kota Kinabalu for family trip and among the many things there that drew my interest was that the fish sold at the waterfront (not far from the marina court) were damned fresh and much, much cheaper unlike the ones being sold in Kuching here. wonder what's the reason? anyone knows any place where one can buy fresh fish like that in Kuching? and another thing is the nearby ikan bakar. my family really enjoyed the ikan bakar there.sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-71521355201003076772009-04-25T02:58:00.000-07:002009-04-25T06:44:38.383-07:00susan boyle, the new singing sensationoh my, what a surprise! move aside William Hung. here comes a new singing sensation in a reality show in Britain... susan boyle is the name and she is a 47 year old spinster living with her cat. for a record, her performance posted on youtube has more than 50,000,000 hits. this what we mean by ' don't judge the book by its cover' . her appearance belie her singing prowess. even simon cowell is stunned! go to youtube and u will know what i mean.sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-28845536780267829632009-04-13T01:45:00.000-07:002009-04-13T01:54:06.244-07:00day light crimesof late, the number of houses being broken into by robbers are quite alarming in Kuching and my friend was one of the victims and so was our colleague who stayed in nanas road area. The irony of the case is that, both cases happened during the day time and it was said that the robbers used cars of the same model and colour with the victims to avoid any suspicion by the neighbours. May be cars for rent owners have unknowingly rent out the cars to the robbers or the robbers may have borrowed the cars for such ill-purpose. so watch out guys, the robbers are getting smarter by the day!sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-1799843415042948992009-03-03T23:18:00.000-08:002009-03-05T23:56:28.007-08:00batang ai by electionTan Sri Aziz (3rd left) handing over the writ of the N.29 Batang Ai By -Election to Nelson Mujah Girie, Lubok Antu District Officer who is also the Returning Officer.

So the first part of the waiting game is now over. But analysing closely, could an ordinary camera phone (as reported) took the picture of the so called nabau from 1,500 feet above sea level ? you guess it! it was reported by the local daily that the picture was taken by someone from a helicopter. to me, i believe that the picture was most probably...doctored.sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-9177158832048421212009-01-16T07:01:00.000-08:002009-01-16T07:23:18.032-08:00a bad startThe coming of the month of January is not a good new year opener for me. On 30 Dec 2008 my mom was admitted to the Kapit Hospital until 4th January and then she was transferred to the Sibu Hospital where she was further admitted until 15 January. She was down with a bladder infection, and being 78 years old, her immunity was low and so was her response to medication according to her doctor. Then On 12 Jan when i was still in Sibu, my wife rang me up and told me that her father got a stroke and was admitted to the SGH for 2 nites. So off i went to the Sibu airport and took the next flight back to Kuching as my wife was alone with her parents. Luckily it was a mild stroke, but he lost some brain cell according to the specialist doctor who treated him and worst still, the episode could recur anytime. So this is the predicament that my family went through for the last 2 weeks and Chinese New Year is just a week away. Apparently we are not in the mood to celebrate this time around due to such circumstances. Hopefully, my mom would fully recover soon and my father- in- law would not get another episode of the stroke. May God Bless Them.sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-39703273224083465842008-12-31T05:48:00.000-08:002008-12-31T07:10:52.319-08:00HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009As i am writing this new post, i can hear the sound of fireworks exploding sporadically in the nite sky as a way for some people to express their preference of ushering in the new year. Of course there are many, many ways to welcome the new year such as holding the traditional barbeque with family members, celebrating in a pub, hotel lounge or the karaoke for some or just a simple family gathering at home enjoying satay, coke and pizza etc..etc.. and watching the TV programmes while waiting for the stroke of midnite. This time, i managed to visit a few friends and went as far as Kampung Skio near Bau to visit them. Christmas is not only to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but it is also a time of sharing and spreading goodwill among our friends . So after the christmas mass , i went to Kampung Skio eventhough it is outsisde Kuching. The distance does not really matter. As i have said, it is a time to visit your frens as i am sure that you won't have any other time to visit them all year round . So a feastive celebration is not only about drinking and eating, but more importantly it is about enhancing one's religious belief as well as an opportunity to enhance one's relationhips with our loved ones, relatives and friends alike especially those whom we seldom meet with. Last year, i went to Kampung Tebakang near Serian to pay a christmas visit to one of my son's friends. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2009 to all of you who know me.sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-80395638511556437922008-12-16T17:00:00.000-08:002008-12-16T17:26:17.035-08:00cuti-cuti malaysiatalking about cuti-cuti malaysia, last October my family had an opportunity to spend a week holiday in KL including in Genting Highlands (GH) for 2 nites. i last visited GH some years ago but that was a day trip. so this time around in conjunction with my son's convo, we went to GH and stayed at the Theme Park Hotel. the journey by bus from KL central is about an hour to reach the cable car station. the cable car ride which lasted about 20 minutes to reach the top of GH was a good experience itself with the cool wind blowing and the mist around u, giving the impression that u r about to see KINGKONG! . But for those who are afraid of heights, dont be afraid, its a smooth ride. Along the way, watch out for the monkeys...who might be giggling at u! At genting, there are lots of things to c and do..(apart from the several casinos), u may shop till u drop, or eat until u r bloated..ha...ha... or u may watch movies and this one particular cineplex even has some massaging chairs for u to sit on while watching the movie . the snow world is also a good experience and the ASEAN village is also a good bargain to buy souvenirs. for children, they will surely make a hole in your pocket as there are 2 theme parks for them to amuse themselves. anyway that's what holidays are for spend..spend.. spend..! Actually, there are a lot of interesting places to see in our blessed country. As for KL, almost everybody knows what KL has to offer. So our next stop is probably the Cameron Highlands... c u there!sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-56952772248494212282008-12-11T17:14:00.000-08:002008-12-11T17:29:31.722-08:00MV DOULOS IS IN TOWNLast week, i received a phone call from Ms Ginny who is as a staff member of MV Doulos, dubbed the 'largest floating library in the world' to seek my assistance to help coordinate the publicity for the ship's arrival. Hearing the word MV Doulos, i myself was actually already excited as i could remember vividly when i first set foot on the big ship. And of course i was ever ready to help her to invite members of the media to do coverage on its official opening day to members of the public yesterday , although i couldnt make it myself. But i will surely come and visit the ship with my family members in tow. According to Ginny, it will be the ship's last call in Kuching as the ship is almost 100 years old and may no longer travel round the world. So u folks out there, do take the opportunity to visit this wonderful ship before Jan 2, 2009 and have a look at the more than 6,000 books available on board. i am sure there are some books that are of interest to u ...See u there! This is the place where the famous ikan terubok masin is available and this is the place where i would frequent during the weekends if i m not busy and so are other hundreds of other people. This spot is also a tourist attraction. But what irks me about the place is the way the majority of the vendors who sell their kuih- muih (local cakes and other delicacies) that are not covered at all times. Apparently, the word 'hygiene' is far from their minds as i have noticed that years after years, the situation is still the same. It seems that the public who purchased them also do not mind at all, whether the food are covered or not, as by the end of the day, the vendors are laughing all the way to the banks! Just imagine the large crowd out there, some who might be coughing, sneezing, and the dust, the smoke and other unseen pollutant including the flies that settled on the kuih- muih that are waiting to be consumed by the buyers. Hopefully the authority will check on this problem including other places too, which i noticed are also practising the same style of selling their kuih muih.sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-18290103366714918012008-12-03T20:22:00.000-08:002008-12-03T20:32:05.060-08:00it is three weeks away to the end of 2008 and its amazing how fast the time goes by and suddenly we are about to say hello to 2009. As usual, there will be lots of new year greetings (through the sms especially) and some friends would be asking about the new year resolution (year after year) and some planning where and how to usher in the new year.

As for me, i dont really have any particular new year resolution just that 'Life Must Go On'. But like anybody else, of course there are many things that i want to achieve, you want to achieve..and the list goes on...but generally, i do want to see a more peaceful world out there and hopefully, it will be... so what say you?sambayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05417856953017857967noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8733129109684441277.post-51569329221172424322008-12-03T19:53:00.000-08:002008-12-03T20:47:44.868-08:00a new kid on the bloghi,

i am just a new kid (or man) on the blog.
