CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW CHIEF SECRETARY TO THE GOVERNMENT

My heartiest congratulations to Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa for being appointed as the new Chief Secretary to the government. Like many other civil servants, i may not know him personally but from what i have heard from those who have met him, they said he was a nice person and down to earth. Yes, that's what they said and i really hope that such traits will remain with the nation's number one civil servant in accordance with one of the eighth values of PM's 1Malaysia concept, 'HUMILITY' (rendah diri).
I also hope that many other top civil servants will take note of such traits. Often we heard cases of certain bosses who showed disrespect to another human being by shouting at their subordinates or throwing files and documents around the office when they are in a bad mood!
Besides that, i also hope that the disparity of senior posts between government officers would be streamlined so that there would not be too few senior posts in one department as compared to another to motivate the officers. And another long overdue case is on promotion. some claimed that they always missed the promotion exercise while others may have at least been promoted two to three times during the same period.
Lastly i also hoped to see faster delivery system being implemented by some departments. For example, someone claimed  that an application for a renewal of a land lease took more than two years for the relevant department to finally respond to to the applicant and the case is said to be still pending.

PM NAJIB'S VISIT TO KENINGAU SABAH

Congratulations to the people of Keningau who have the opportunity to meet PM Naijb in person during his visit the last two days. This is PM Najib, the man who introduced a very different style of administration for the betterment of all Malaysians. In conjunction with his visit, Keningau now got a handicraft centre and other goodies. Hopefully more developments will come under his rule.

FATHER'S DAY

Yesterday, June 17 was Father's Day. Hopefully all children will remember to hug or sent a message to their respective fathers on this particular day. Anyway, Father's Day and Mother's Day should be an everyday affair to a family so that it would help enhance family bonding and show appreciation to each other. I Wish Everyone A Happy Father's Day-  :)

PM NAJIB'S GAWAI VISIT TO RUMAH GEORGE CHUNGUT, PAKAN SARIKEI
I have just came back from Pakan Sarikei in conjunction with the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd. Najib's Gawai Dayak visit to a 33-door Iban longhouse, Rh. Chungut, Ng. Nansang Pakan, Sarikei on June 3, 2012.
Obviously our PM is a very popular figure everywhere he goes!  It was really a day for the crowd of more than 3000 people at the longhouse to cherish. They were very enthusiastic about his visit and were seen jostling mildly with one another to get vantage position, not wanting to lose the golden opportunity to shake Najib's hand.
And Najib, being a humbled leader was very obliging. He even walked on the whole length of the "ruai' of the longhouse to meet and greet the long line of people.
A retired teacher in his 70s who was present said Najib's Gawai visit was indeed an historical one as never in his life that a Prime Minister  had ever visited an Iban longhouse for the Gawai Dayak celebration. He added: "this is sure a very proud moment for us and the event will long be cherished."      Sarawak Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud accompanied Najib during the visit. After spending some two hours there, Najib continued his visit to nearby Rh. Mathew Jana, at Julau for a similar event. Rh George Chungut is also the longhouse of Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom.
Hopefully, his visit will pave the way for more leaders to follow in his footstep in order to get really close to the people.

SELAMAT MENYAMBUT HARI GAWAI DAYAK 2012

Wishing all Dayak friends a Very Happy Gawai Dayak 2012 celebrations. This is the time for us to visit one another to enhance friendship. Normally for those living in cities, one could hardly find the right time to visit relatives and close friends. As the holidays will start tomorrow and ends on June 4, so make full use of the holidays to visit our friends. Remember, DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE ! Anyway its not the eating and the drinking that really count, but spreading the Gawai spirit among us is more important. As for me, i am not celebrating the Gawai but will visits some close friends.

PM's GAWAI DAYAK VISITS ON JUNE 3 2012

On June 2, i will be on travelling to Sibu and Pakan in conjuction with PM's Gawai Dayak Visit. Really appreciate YAB Mohd. Najib's visit to Betong, Pakan and Julau on June 3. I think that this is the first time that a Malaysian PM has humbled himself to visit two Iban longhouses in conjunction with this year's Gawai. I am pretty sure that his visits will be long cherished by the people of both longhouses. This is a leader who truly associates himself closely with his rakyat. May he will continue to be our PM. Selamat Gawai Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai Lantang Senag Nguan Menua!

The announcement of 21 new projects worth more than RM20 billion yesterday by PM Datuk Seri Najib is one welcoming news for the people. According to PM, the new projects will create 40,000 job opportunities besides boosting GNI by RM4.59 billion by 2020. Hopefully, the nation's unemployment rate will be reduced eventually. Kudos to the government!
